I strongly believe, with all of the propaganda and rhetoric coming from both sides, especially during the election seasons, verifiable factual information is the one tactical advantage, that cannot go wrong.

It is my opinion, the majority of individuals that don’t bother to get involved at all, do so for these reasons, more than any others.

One, they just plain don’t know what to believe and how to find out what‘s really going on.

Two, they assume for whatever reason, that it’s all way too complicated, and they don’t think they can spare the time to learn enough to make a difference.

And, or three, they don’t think they can make a difference anyway.

When I decided to get involved, I didn’t know anything, but my situation became so intolerable, I had to try. I found very quickly, that every new thing I learned, lead me to several new things I might want to know.

It’s also my opinion, probably the most important tools I’ve found, are the websites I can use to keep an eye on my legislators, entirely on my own, and of course, the mailing addresses I have been using, to let my leaders know what I want them to do.

If I had my way, this information would be provided to every registered voter, every time they renewed, or updated their registration, but I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon, so for now, it’s up to activists like myself to spread the word.

I would be very surprised, if any state in the union, does not have any websites like these, but here in Montana, absolutely anybody, can use these websites for the Montana House of Representatives, and the Montana State Senate.

On these sites, citizens and hopefully voters, can look up any state representative, or senator by name, and see a list of any bills they may have sponsored, or co-sponsored. They can also look up specific bills, by bill type and number, bill draft number, by chapter number, or they can browse for bills of interest by clicking on, the very long list, of bill categories.

These sites also provide detailed information about each individual bill, including: The actual text of the bill, after it has been submitted electronically. The bill’s current status such as in drafting process, tabled or non-tabled in committee, passed by legislature, or dead or probably dead. Any actions taken on said bill, such as readings, committee hearings including audio recordings thereof, any amendments made to said bill, and of course any votes on said bill which includes a list of who voted and how.

These sites also provide a great deal of information on how to use the sites, and how to understand how our legislature actually works. In fact this is where I found these mailing addresses, which I have also made use of, on several occasions now.

Representative (NAME)
Montana House of Representatives
P.O. Box 200400
Helena, MT 59620-0400

Senator (NAME)
Montana Senate
P.O. Box 200500
Helena, MT 59620-0500

Governor (NAME)
Office of the Governor
P.O. Box 200801
Helena, MT 59620-0801

I’ve been using these sites for several months now and I still haven’t even explored half of what they offer. In my mind these are invaluable resources, and I encourage every voter, in the State of Montana, to utilize every advantage they can find.

Now is the time to be keeping a close eye on our legislators, and the Governor. When the next election comes around, I for one, will be armed with knowledge, I fully intend to use to expose the bad apples, and to support our true patriots.
